Butler County


Butler City is the County Seat of Butler County, located 35 miles north of Pittsburgh.
There are 9 school districts in Butler County, and Butler County Community College.  It is also the home of Slippery Rock University, one of the largest employers in the county.


Butler County has been an industrial center since the early 1800’s.  Westinghouse Nuclear Headquarters and oil refinery Marcellus Shale are located in Butler County.

In addition, there are well known golf courses and country clubs, nearby popular Pittsburgh Mills Mall, several large companies and businesses, and even a race track, Lernerville Speedway.  With so much to do and so much to be proud of, the Allegheny Kiski Valley region is an area that thousands are happy to call home.
